Volunteer to visit with 1-5 elders in a nursing home on or close to the Thanksgiving holiday!

Pick up Thanksgiving pies and elder gift bags from the LBFE office before your visit.

To volunteer as a holiday visitor, you must submit and pass an online background check; links will be provided in a confirmation email.

Up to three family members or friends are welcome to join you! Please register additional volunteers age 12+; no registration required for younger children. For the comfort and safety of our elders, please limit your group to four people.

LBFE is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among older adults in the Twin Cities area since 1972. Through the generosity of our supporters and dedicated volunteers – like you - LBFE helps isolated elders stay socially engaged through one-on-one home visits, group activities and holiday events, while also providing advocacy and referrals.
As an LBFE holiday volunteer, you will bring joy and connection into elders’ lives during a season when loneliness is most deeply felt. You will also be helping to decrease health risks that their isolation often brings. Through your generous gift of self, we are confident that you will come away with a deeper appreciation of elders and find your own experience personally rewarding.
